The NPA Leadership Team plans, organizes, and oversees all NPA Programs and Activities.

Board of Directors

NPA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who set policy and direct the overall running of the organization. The Board of Directors is comprised of Officers, Committee Directors, and Directors-at-Large.

  • Officers:  President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Past President
  • Committee Directors:  Board Development, Communications & Publicity, Education, Membership, Finance, Volunteers
  • Directors-at-Large

Officers are elected by the Board in August, and confirmed by members in September; they serve 1-year terms, limited to nine consecutive terms.

Committee Directors and Directors-at Large are appointed by the Board and serve 3-year terms, limited to three consecutive terms.

Project Chairs oversee NPA’s main programs and activities, they are appointed by the President, Vice President, and Board Development Chair.

NPA Contractors & Staff

A part-time Administrative Assistant answers emails and phone calls, maintains the membership database, and assists NPA’s Board of Directors as needed. A part-time Border Supervisor oversees volunteers at the border, and assists NPA’s Border Project Chairs as needed.

Would you like to join NPA’s Board of Directors?

The Board welcomes members who have an interest in guiding NPA to become a Director-at-Large. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend monthly Board Meetings - can participate remotely via Skype
  • Help set policy and participate in long-range planning
  • Help plan and organize NPA events, volunteer at these events
  • Learn the details of running NPA, after time step forward to serve as an Officer, Committee Director, or Project Chair

Important qualifications for prospective board members include:  dedicated to the mission of NPA, enjoyment of effectively working with others, plus any specialized skills or experience in planning, organizing and communication.
